Advantis Credit Union does not publish a rule that every used car must arrive with a CARFAX report. Its rates pages, read on Nov. 5, 2026, highlight auto loans for 2022 and newer vehicles as low as 6.24% APR and point members toward auto loan resources. Members who buy older cars or shop private party should still run a history report before funding, because rate tiles are not the same as vehicle acceptance rules.
What Advantis's pages say
These details come from Advantis Credit Union site content reviewed Nov. 5, 2026. The site still surfaces Rivermark branding in places because Advantis is the newer name for that Portland-area credit union. Confirm everything with Advantis before you apply, since promotions change.
- Auto loans for 2022 and newer vehicles were listed as low as 6.24% APR on the rates tiles we captured.
- The site promotes auto loan resources, calculators and articles under its learning content.
- Home refinance and other lending products appear alongside auto offers; do not confuse those APRs with auto rates.
- We did not find a public sentence that says a CARFAX or AutoCheck file is mandatory for every used-car funding.
Ask the loan officer how vehicle age, mileage, salvage brands and open safety recalls affect approvals for cars older than the "2022 and newer" tile. That conversation matters more than the headline APR.
Where a history report still fits
Even when a credit union advertises a clean rate tile, you own the risk of buying a washed title or a rolled-back odometer. Pull a report from the windshield VIN and compare it with NMVTIS. Our guides on credit union salvage title loans and used car loan-to-value explain why brands and high LTV collide at funding time.
Seller PDFs from marketplace meets are easy to fake. Read how to spot a fake report before you trust a printout, and match every VIN character to the dash and door sticker.
Practical steps before you apply
- Get a pre-approval so you know a payment range, then shop with a firm out-the-door number.
- Run NHTSA recalls for free at NHTSA.gov/recalls and keep the results with your loan file.
- Ask Advantis whether open safety recalls, salvage brands or flood brands block funding on used cars.
- Ask how cars older than the 2022-and-newer tile are priced and whether they are eligible at all.
- Budget taxes, title and registration on top of the rate tile payment math.
A pre-purchase inspection still matters on private-party and older dealer cars. Lenders price credit risk; shops find mechanical risk. Our GAP insurance for used cars note covers when GAP helps if Advantis offers it as an add-on.
Rate sheet caveats
The Nov. 5, 2026 "as low as" 6.24% APR figure is for qualified members on newer autos and can move with credit score, term and vehicle details. A long term on a borderline-age car can look cheap monthly and expensive in total interest. Ask for the APR that applies to the exact VIN and term you want.
Also ask how Advantis treats dealer add-ons in the financed amount. Optional products can push LTV past what the credit union will fund even when the base price looked fine.
When to pause the deal
Pause if the title is not in the seller's name, the VIN on the dash and door sticker disagree, the history report shows a brand Advantis will not fund, or the seller pressures you to wire a deposit before a loan decision. The rates tile is a starting point. The car's paperwork decides whether the loan closes.
Bring the windshield VIN to your loan officer before you transfer a deposit. Keep copies of the history report, the NHTSA recall printout, the bill of sale and any lender pre-approval email in one folder. Honestly, most funding delays come from paperwork gaps, not from mystery underwriting.
If you are comparing Advantis with another Pacific Northwest credit union, ask each the same branded-title and open-recall questions on the same day. Write the answers down. Marketing APRs move; collateral rules decide if your chosen car can close.
Members who still see Rivermark references in older emails or branch signs should confirm they are dealing with the same legal credit union and the same loan desk rules before they sign.
What the report costs
As of early November 2026 a CARFAX bought direct usually costs around $44.99, and AutoCheck sits a little lower. We are a licensed CARFAX and AutoCheck reseller, not affiliated with CARFAX, AutoCheck or Experian. Our guest price has been about $5.50 a report, about $4.50 for members, and about $6.75 for a CARFAX and AutoCheck bundle. Confirm the price at checkout, since it can change.
