Mobility CU CARFAX Policy

Mobility Credit Union advertises loans for new and used vehicles and refinancing, but its public page does not state a CARFAX requirement, so ask the loan team directly. Confirm the history-report condition for your VIN directly before paying for a report or a seller deposit.

Mobility CU CARFAX Policy

I reviewed Mobility Credit Union official auto-loan page for this November 7, 2026 guide. A public offer does not settle every vehicle-specific funding condition; ask the lender which requirements apply to your transaction. So, use the points below to prepare a loan conversation, rather than treating this page as approval or a personal rate quote.

Ask Mobility CU how it checks vehicle history

Mobility Credit Union advertises loans for new and used vehicles and refinancing, but its public page does not state a CARFAX requirement, so ask the loan team directly. Give the VIN, mileage, model year and seller type. Ask whether the credit union orders its own report, accepts one you supply or relies on title and valuation checks alone. A dealer telling you the report is covered does not settle which report the lender will accept.

Understand what 100% financing includes

Mobility CU says it offers up to 100% financing that may include taxes, title, license fees and eligible warranties. Rolling those costs into the loan can leave you owing more than the car is worth for some time. Ask for quotes with and without the warranty and fees financed so you can see the difference in the total. Leave advertised rates on the lender page and request a personal quote for your vehicle age and term.

Look at the leasing option separately

Mobility CU partners with D&M Auto Leasing and describes lease terms of 36 to 60 months with mileage options. A lease is a different contract from a loan, with its own rules on mileage, wear and the end of the term. Ask for the full lease terms in writing, including what happens if you end it early. Do not compare a lease payment with a loan payment as if they were the same thing.

Price GAP, credit insurance and CU Certified

Mobility CU lists GAP insurance, credit life, credit disability and involuntary unemployment cover, plus CU Certified mechanical breakdown coverage. Ask for each price, its exclusions and how to cancel it. Request a loan quote with none of them added for comparison. None of these products describes the history or condition of the car, so keep your report and independent inspection as separate steps in the purchase.

Send a concrete collateral question

Ask Mobility Credit Union whether the proposed vehicle qualifies with its present title status, mileage, age and seller type. State any brand, existing lien or unusual registration history before asking about the report product. Our credit-union branded-title checklist helps organise that request. Ask how recent any history evidence must be. Look, a fake PDF can conceal an ownership gap while a genuine report may still omit an unreported repair. Keep the loan officer response in the purchase file and get a new answer if the VIN changes.

Compare financing and ownership costs on separate sheets

The CFPB auto-loan resources explain how to compare borrowing, including APR, term and amount financed. Our loan-to-value explainer covers why a large advance relative to vehicle value matters even when a payment fits. Request a dated quote with fees and optional products listed separately. For a deal with an existing lien, our lien-payoff steps helps you ask who receives the money and who supplies the release.

Keep the inspection outside the credit decision

Financing approval leaves the condition of the car to be established separately. NYC used-car buying guidance recommends an independent mechanic, while the federal dealer Buyers Guide rule concerns dealer disclosures rather than a credit-union CARFAX mandate. Ask the inspector for immediate repairs and a written estimate. Put repairs, insurance and registration beside the loan quote to judge whether the whole purchase still works.

Line up the paperwork before the handover

Before you collect the car, confirm with Mobility Credit Union which documents it needs from the seller, who holds the title and how the lien will be recorded. Ask how long funding takes once the file is complete, so you do not promise the seller a date the credit union cannot meet. Verify any change in payment instructions by calling a number you already know. Keep the bill of sale, title copy, inspection report and loan papers together in one folder. If anything in the deal changes after approval, such as the price, the VIN or the seller, tell the loan team before closing rather than after.

We are a licensed CARFAX and AutoCheck reseller, not affiliated with CARFAX, AutoCheck or Experian. Wholesale reports cost a few dollars; confirm current coverage and the total at checkout. A quiet report can miss unreported repairs. Keep the independent inspection even if the seller sends an impressive PDF.
