As of October 2026, a Jaguar Approved Certified Pre-Owned car in the U.S. comes from the previous five model years, passes a 165-point inspection, includes a vehicle history report, and carries a limited warranty of either 1 year with unlimited miles or 2 years/100,000 miles that only starts when the factory warranty runs out. Coverage has no deductible, includes 24/7 roadside for the warranty period and transfers to a private buyer. Jaguar doesn't publish a mileage cap, and it doesn't say up front which of the two warranties a given car gets, so get that in writing.
Buying a certified Jaguar right now is a slightly strange errand. BBC News reported in November 2024 that JLR had stopped selling new Jaguars in the UK ahead of an electric-only relaunch, and CNBC reported that the new Type 01 was revealed in New York on October 6, 2026 at around $130,000 in North America. The certified cars on lots today are the older lineup, things like the XE, XF, F-PACE, E-PACE, F-TYPE and I-PACE. I read Jaguar USA's program pages and its CPO brochure on Sunday, October 18, 2026; this is the checklist I'd take to the retailer.
Eligibility: what Jaguar actually publishes
Jaguar's certified pre-owned page says cars are "hand-selected from the previous five model years." The program brochure opens its inspection list by asking whether the car meets "age, model year and mileage eligibility," but never prints the mileage number. I looked. So ask the retailer for the current mileage limit and treat any answer without a document behind it as a guess. The brochure's file name suggests it dates from 2021, which is another reason to confirm current terms.
The 165-point inspection
The page says every car must pass all 165 checks, covering paintwork, interior, engine prep and a road test, before a Jaguar technician signs it off. The brochure groups the points into exterior and finish, electrical, luggage area, engine, interior, heating and A/C, undercarriage and drivetrain, and the road test. One line matters a lot on an I-PACE: the electrical section includes a check of the battery's state of health. Ask for the printed result, not a verbal "it passed."
Which warranty did your car get?
This is the part I'd push hardest on. Both the program page and the offers page say the CPO warranty is one of two versions, 1 year/unlimited miles or 2 years/100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and it starts at the end of the new-vehicle limited warranty. The offers page adds that coverage is measured from the original in-service date and zero miles. The brochure spells it out: coverage expires one year after the factory warranty ends with unlimited miles, or two years after or at 100,000 miles. Two cars on the same lot could carry different coverage, and the difference is a whole year.
- No deductible on covered repairs, per the program page.
- Transferable. The brochure says it moves to later private owners but is terminated if the car is sold to a non-Jaguar franchise retailer.
- Roadside for the warranty period: flat tire, dead battery, lockout, towing to the nearest Jaguar retailer, and, per the brochure, reasonable food, lodging or transportation costs if covered repairs run past a day.
Since the tow goes to the nearest Jaguar retailer, check how far that is from your house before you count on it.
The financing offer and its odd fine print
As of Oct 18, 2026, the offers page advertises 3.99% for 12 to 36 months on 2020-2025 CPO XE, XF, XJ, F-PACE, F-TYPE, E-PACE and I-PACE models, valid October 1 through November 2, 2026, for well-qualified buyers through an approved lender. The same disclaimer then gives a payment example at 4.99% for 60 months. Ask which rate you qualify for, and for how many months, before you sign anything.
How it stacks up
Jaguar's coverage is short next to some rivals. Our Genesis certified checklist found a 191-point inspection and coverage running to 6 years/75,000 miles, plus the rest of a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. Our Porsche certified checklist found 2 years with unlimited miles on cars up to 13 model years old. Jaguar's best case is 2 years, starting later. That's fine on a three-year-old car with factory coverage left. On a car whose factory warranty is nearly gone, you're paying a CPO premium for a year or two.
Your own checks, certified or not
Jaguar says each car comes with a vehicle history report, but its U.S. page doesn't name the provider. Read the one you're handed, then pull your own. A certification inspection and an independent history report answer different questions, which is the point of our certified pre-owned and CARFAX post. Confirm the VIN with our Jaguar VIN decoder, run it through Jaguar recall check by VIN and search NMVTIS for title brands. We're a licensed CARFAX and AutoCheck reseller, not affiliated with CARFAX, AutoCheck, Experian or Jaguar Land Rover. Mid October 2026 pricing: about $5.50 per guest report, about $4.50 for members, about $6.75 for the bundle, against roughly $39.99 to $44.99 retail. Please verify at checkout, since it can change.
