Daihatsu Recall Check by VIN: Rocky and Charade Campaigns

Daihatsu left the U.S. market years ago, but NHTSA still lists campaigns on Rocky and Charade models you can query by year, make and model. A 1990 Rocky returned campaigns 95V103010 and 10V083000 when I queried NHTSA on Nov. 5, 2026. A 1990 Charade returned 89V213000. Clear open recalls by VIN before you buy a used Daihatsu, because dealer networks that once handled the work are gone.

I used NHTSA's recallsByVehicle API for Daihatsu Rocky and Charade model year 1990 on Nov. 5, 2026, plus the NHTSA vPIC decoder and NMVTIS. Static NHTSA HTML recall PDFs often 404 from research hosts, so campaign IDs below come from the live API response, not from a brochure PDF.

Campaigns that still show up

For a 1990 Daihatsu Rocky, NHTSA returned:

  • 95V103010: front seat-belt buckle release buttons that can break.
  • 10V083000: exhaust emission-control check valve issue on certain 1990-92 Rocky SUVs.

For a 1990 Daihatsu Charade, NHTSA returned:

  • 89V213000: primary brake cup in the master cylinder that may fail and cut brake-line pressure.

Other years can return different counts. Always query the exact VIN or the exact year/make/model pair. A clean driveway photo does not prove campaign completion.

How to check a Daihatsu VIN

Decode the VIN on vPIC, then run recalls through NHTSA's vehicle tools or our walkthrough at NHTSA recall check by VIN. Compare any open rows against a history report using open recalls on CARFAX and how to read a CARFAX report.

Because Daihatsu no longer sells cars here, completion may require a Toyota-affiliated shop or a specialist that can still order campaign parts. Call before you buy. An "open" row with no parts path is a negotiation point, not a free afternoon fix.

Title and parts reality

Defunct-brand cars show up with odd title brands, odometer gaps and import paperwork. Confirm the title on NMVTIS and match the VIN plate, door sticker and dash stamp. Body parts for Rocky and Charade can take weeks. Price that delay into any "bargain" listing.

Look, a low asking price on a Charade with an open brake campaign is not a bargain until a shop confirms the master cylinder work is doable.

Reseller pricing caveat

We're a licensed CARFAX and AutoCheck reseller, not affiliated with CARFAX, AutoCheck, Experian, Daihatsu or Toyota. As of early November 2026, guest reports run about $5.50, member reports about $4.50, and the two-report bundle about $6.75, against retail near $39.99 to $44.99. Confirm at checkout.

Title brands, odometer gaps and salvage rebuilds show up on a report you buy yourself, even when the paint looks straight. Cross-check the VIN plate, door sticker and dashboard stamp so the car matches the paper before you wire a deposit.

Defunct-brand cars often need specialty shops for campaign parts. Call before you buy so a quoted "open recall" is actually completable, not a dead campaign with no inventory.
