Genesis Recall Check by VIN: GV70, GV80 and G70 Campaigns

To check Genesis recalls on a used GV70, GV80, G70, or Electrified model, run the 17-digit VIN on NHTSA's recall lookup and ask a Genesis dealer for the campaign printout. Incomplete campaigns are free repairs. In mid October 2026, gas GV70 and GV80 shoppers should clear the fuel pipe leak recall first, while newer cluster-display campaigns need a software update that may already be sitting in an over-the-air queue.

Genesis recalls are filed by Hyundai Motor America, so the paperwork often lists Hyundai numbers such as 033G or 022G next to Genesis models. When we pulled Genesis filings on October 13, 2026, several fuel pump and instrument cluster campaigns spanned G80, GV70, and GV80 in the same document. That is normal for this brand family. The VIN still has to close on the car you are buying.

How to run a Genesis VIN

Match the windshield and door VINs. Our NHTSA recall check by VIN guide explains incomplete versus completed status. Decode the car with our Genesis VIN decoder so you can tell a gas GV70 from an Electrified GV70, a GV80, or a G70 before you argue about which PDF applies. Genesis owners can also start from Genesis owners resources and still demand a dealer printout with the campaign code and a date. Incomplete means a fix exists and nobody has done it.

Fuel pipe and fuel pump campaigns

NHTSA recall 26V-229 covers about 94,760 Genesis vehicles including certain 2022-2026 GV70, 2021-2025 G80, and GV80 models. Fuel may leak at the pipe connection between the fuel pipe and fuel rail. Dealers inspect and tighten or replace the fuel pipe. Owner letters began July 20, 2026. Genesis code is 033G. A fuel smell on a cold start is not a "needs a car wash" story until this line is closed.

24V-282 covers about 31,440 2022-2023 Genesis GV70, GV80, G80, and G90 vehicles whose fuel pump may fail and cut drive power. It expands earlier recall 23V-630. Dealers inspect and replace the fuel pump assembly. Letters went out June 7, 2024. On the sedan side, 24V-528 covers about 54,647 vehicles including 2019-2023 Genesis G70 models with the same fuel pump failure mode. Dealers update engine control software and inspect or replace the pump. A car "fixed once" under an older fuel pump campaign can still be open under the expansion.

Cluster software, Electrified models and GV70 wiring water

26V-019 covers about 83,877 vehicles including certain 2025-2026 G80, GV80, Electrified G80, GV60, Electrified GV70, and GV70 models. A software error may fail the instrument panel display. Owners were advised to disable HD radio until the audio-video navigation software is updated over the air or at a dealer. Letters began February 17, 2026. An earlier related campaign, 25V-105, covers about 32,594 2023-2024 G80 and GV80 plus 2025 GV70 and 2023-2025 Electrified GV70 vehicles with the same display failure mode.

On 2024 GV70 gas models, 24V-205 covers about 15,645 vehicles. Water may leak into the transmission control wiring, short the circuit, and unexpectedly shift the transmission from Park to Neutral. Owners were told to shut the ignition off and use the emergency parking brake after parking until the wiring is repaired. Letters went out May 9, 2024. IIHS rates the 2024 GV70 if you want crash-test context after the recall list is clear.

History report and price

A recall lookup will not catch a washed title or a rolled-back odometer. CARFAX says its reports cover title brands, odometer readings, ownership, and reported accidents, and our guide on how to read a CARFAX report helps. As of mid October 2026, CARFAX through us is about $5.50 guest or $4.50 member, bundle about $6.75, versus roughly $39.99 to $44.99 retail. Confirm at checkout. We are a licensed CARFAX and AutoCheck reseller, not affiliated with CARFAX, AutoCheck, or Experian. A seller who shows a screenshot of a closed Hyundai campaign on a different VIN is not helping you.
