To check Infiniti recalls by VIN, run the 17-digit VIN on NHTSA's recall lookup and on Infiniti's own recall page, then get an Infiniti dealer printout showing each campaign as completed. For a used QX50, the big one in mid October 2026 is the VC-Turbo engine bearing recall. For a 2025-2026 QX80, it is rearview camera software. QX60 shoppers mostly have seat, seat belt, and brake caliper campaigns to clear.
Infiniti is Nissan's luxury brand, so recalls are filed by Nissan North America and many of them also cover a Pathfinder, Rogue, Murano, or Armada. The codes on a dealer printout look like R25A8 or PD137 rather than the NHTSA format of 25V-437. When we pulled Infiniti filings from NHTSA on October 13, 2026, the list was shorter than you might guess for a luxury brand, but a few of the entries are the kind you do not want to inherit. Infiniti has its own customer line, 1-800-662-6200, which is printed in most of these filings, and it is worth calling if the dealer and the website disagree.
Running the VIN and reading the status
Match the VIN on the dash, the door jamb, and the title before you type anything. Our guide to running a recall check by VIN on NHTSA shows how to read incomplete versus completed lines, and Infiniti's recall lookup gives a second read from the brand side. Decode the trim with our Infiniti VIN decoder so you know whether that QX60 is the older CVT version or the 2022-and-later redesign, since the campaigns barely overlap. If you are also cross-shopping a Pathfinder or Rogue, our Nissan recall check by VIN covers the shared campaigns from the Nissan side.
QX50 and QX55: the VC-Turbo engine bearing recall
NHTSA recall 25V-437 covers about 443,899 vehicles with variable compression turbo engines, including 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50 and 2022 QX55 models along with some Rogue and Altima. The filing says the engine bearings may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine failure. The remedy is an engine control module software reprogram, and owner letters went out April 8, 2026. Car and Driver's QX50 page notes every QX50 since the 2019 redesign uses the 268-hp VC-Turbo four with a CVT, so every one of those years is worth a VIN check. If a seller says "the engine was already looked at," ask for the repair order with the campaign code on it. A verbal answer is not proof.
A much smaller one rides alongside it. 23V-187 covers about 48 2022 QX50 and 2023 QX55 vehicles that may have the wrong front passenger door latch, which can stop that door from locking automatically. Dealers replace the latch assembly. Tiny count, but it shows up on printouts, so do not let a salesperson wave it off as a glitch.
QX60: seats, belts, lights and brakes
The 2022 QX60 was a ground-up redesign that dropped the CVT for a nine-speed automatic, and the early build years collected several hardware campaigns. 23V-814 covers about 20,051 2022-2024 QX60 models whose adaptive front lighting may aim the headlights down at certain high speeds. 24V-176 covers about 12,019 2024 Pathfinder and QX60 vehicles whose left front lap belt pretensioner may be missing a rivet. On 2025 models, 25V-173 covers about 1,430 Murano, Pathfinder, and QX60 vehicles whose front brake calipers may have reduced strength and could break. Dealers inspect and replace the calipers as necessary. A small population, sure, but you do not want to be in it unrepaired.
QX80: camera software on the redesign, plus older fuel pumps
The 2025 QX80 redesign has three camera software filings so far. 24V-747 covers about 5,176 2025 QX80 models with Around View Monitor whose rearview image may freeze, and dealers reprogram the software. 24V-748 and 25V-821 cover infotainment software errors that can keep the camera image from showing, with fixes by dealer or over the air. On 2020-2021 V8 QX80s, 21V-373 covers about 24,140 Armada and QX80 vehicles whose fuel pump impeller can swell and bind. Then there is 26V-455, about 168,149 QX56, QX80, and Armada vehicles on 22-inch wheels whose certification label lists the wrong gross axle weight rating. Interim letters went out September 2, 2026, and new labels are expected in fall 2026. If you tow with one, that label matters.
Recalls are only half the check
A finished recall list does not tell you whether a QX80 spent a year as a livery car or came back from a flood auction. CARFAX says its reports show title brands, odometer readings, ownership, and reported accidents, and our guide on how to read a CARFAX report explains each section. In mid October 2026 a CARFAX report through us costs about $5.50 as a guest or $4.50 as a member, and the CARFAX plus AutoCheck bundle is about $6.75, compared with roughly $39.99 to $44.99 retail. Confirm the price at checkout. We are a licensed CARFAX and AutoCheck reseller, not affiliated with CARFAX, AutoCheck, or Experian.
