Soarion Federal publishes auto APRs effective 11/05/2026 from 5.89% up to 60 months. The rates page does not state a CARFAX requirement, so ask what the loan needs before you order a report for underwriting.
For this November 5, 2026 guide I read Soarion's rates page, which shows Rates effective as of: 11/05/2026 above the auto table, and its about page. The APRs are marked as low as. So, use them as a dated reference and expect your quote to depend on credit, term and the car.
Read the auto term rows
The auto table lists 5.89% up to 60 months, 6.09% up to 72 months and 6.29% up to 84 months. These are as-low-as figures based on credit evaluation. Ask which term the credit union will actually approve for your model year and mileage. A long term on an older car may not be offered even if the table shows 84 months.
Use the payment example as a sketch only
The page gives a $30,000 loan for 84 months at 6.29% APR with an estimated payment of $442. That assumes the lowest rate and that term. Taxes and fees change the math. Our loan-to-value explainer covers the gap between price and collateral value. Get a written quote on your exact amount.
Ask what underwriting wants for history
The rates page reviewed does not name a required CARFAX or AutoCheck product, report age or purchaser. Ask whether Soarion orders its own history or needs title documents before disbursement. Our credit-union branded-title checklist helps you prepare collateral questions. A clean seller PDF is not proof of a clean title. Match the VIN everywhere.
Confirm you have the right Soarion
Soarion's official history page says it began in 1952 when servicemen at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio each invested $5, and that Soarion Credit Union was formerly AFFCU. Older AFFCU branding describes history, not a separate lender. Open the official soarion.org site before following any dealer link.
Watch membership and account rules
The page notes membership eligibility is required and rates can change without notice. Ask what share balance and account setup the loan expects at closing. Keep membership, approval and inspection on separate tracks. Each needs its own paperwork.
Line up payoff steps on refinances
If you refinance or buy a car with an existing loan, ask how Soarion coordinates payoff and title transfer. Our lien-payoff steps explain the sequence. Keep optional products such as GAP on separate lines with their own costs. Do not bundle them into the headline APR comparison.
Keep the car checks separate from approval
A loan approval does not certify the car's condition or the seller's ownership story. The NYC consumer-agency used-car guidance tells buyers to get a history report and an independent mechanic, and the federal Buyers Guide rule describes dealer disclosures rather than any credit-union CARFAX mandate. Private sales follow a different disclosure setting. Use our inspection checklist to define the mechanical work before you release funds.
Before you authorize funding
The same rates page also lists motorcycle, boat and RV tables with their own dates and as-low-as figures. Do not mix those rows into an auto quote. Ask the loan officer to point to the automobile line that applies to your VIN and term.
Ask Soarion to confirm the term, the APR with your credit and whether any report is needed. So, ask for a dated written approval tied to the actual VIN, amount financed and term. Keep the rate quote, collateral answer, purchase agreement and any payoff instructions together. The CFPB auto-loan resources explain how to shop and compare offers; they do not set this lender's underwriting policy.
We are a licensed CARFAX and AutoCheck reseller, not affiliated with CARFAX, AutoCheck or Experian. Guest reports have been about $5.50, member reports about $4.50 and a two-report bundle about $6.75; confirm the price at checkout because it can change. A report can miss unreported work, so keep the inspection appointment even when the history looks quiet.
Keep membership funding, the inspection appointment and the rate quote on three separate checklists. A strong APR does not rescue a car with hidden title or mechanical problems.
