Nebraska FCU Auto Loan Rates: APR and CARFAX

University of Nebraska Federal Credit Union publishes dated secured-loan rates that include autos, but the rates page does not say it provides a free CARFAX or AutoCheck report. Ask what history check the lender runs, then verify the car and title yourself before you sign.

Read the newest model-year rows

The loan rates page checked November 5, 2026 says rates are as of October 1, 2026. For 2026, 2025 and 2024 model years, as-low-as APRs list 3.99% for 24 months, 4.49% for 36 months, 4.74% for 48 months, 4.99% for 60 months, 5.49% for 72 months and 6.49% for 84 months, with sample payments per $1,000 shown beside each term.

Read the mid and older tiers

For 2023 and 2022 model years, as-low-as APRs list 4.74% for 24 months, 4.99% for 36 months, 5.24% for 48 months, 5.74% for 60 months, 5.99% for 72 months and 7.24% for 84 months. For 2021 and older model years, as-low-as APRs list 5.74% for 24 months, 5.99% for 36 months, 6.24% for 48 months, 6.74% for 60 months, 6.99% for 72 months and 8.74% for 84 months.

Treat as-low-as as a starting point

The page says listed rates are best rates based on credit history and discounts, and that your actual rate may be higher. Ask which model-year tier and term apply to the exact car, and get the quote in writing before you compare lenders.

Ask precisely what the history check includes

A lender can review a title or valuation without buying the same consumer report you would buy yourself. Ask whether CARFAX, AutoCheck or another source is used, whether a copy is available to you, and who pays. The public rate page does not describe report access, so that answer stays unconfirmed until the University of Nebraska Federal Credit Union loan officer handling your application gives it. Do not attribute a dealer promise to the credit union.

Make the approval specific to the title

Ask about salvage, rebuilt, flood, manufacturer-buyback and odometer brands before committing to a vehicle. An advertised rate does not establish branded-title eligibility. Supply the VIN, model year, mileage, asking price and title status for a collateral decision. Our lien-release guide explains why a paid-off balance and an acceptable title transfer are separate steps.

Compare the financing without losing the car checks

The CFPB auto-loan resources explain how to compare financing and read disclosures, and the federal Truth in Lending disclosure rules are summarized at Cornell LII. Ask for the APR, finance charge and total of payments, including any optional products. Then compare the inspection findings with the history report. Our odometer discrepancy explainer helps when a mileage entry conflicts with the advert.

Order evidence before releasing money

Use the identifier photographed on the car rather than copying a seller message. A fake PDF can make a private sale look safer than it is. Check title and salvage data through the NMVTIS program and read what service entries can establish before interpreting missing records. Look, approval of your income cannot certify a vehicle the lender has never inspected.

We are a licensed CARFAX and AutoCheck reseller, not affiliated with CARFAX, AutoCheck or Experian. Advertised pricing has recently been about $5.50 guest, $4.50 member and $6.75 for a bundle. Confirm price, report availability and the included products at checkout. A report purchase does not reserve a loan rate, approve collateral or replace your independent inspection.

Identity and name check

University of Nebraska Federal Credit Union, also styled NUFCU, serves the University of Nebraska community from Nebraska. NUFCU and University of Nebraska Federal Credit Union do not match a lender already covered on this site. Confirm membership eligibility before arranging a private sale.

Save the dated rate page and the written approval separately; the approval controls your actual terms.

Keep the vehicle and borrower decisions together

Send the loan officer the sale price, mileage and model year, and ask which published tier the car falls into. Ask how long the approval stays valid and what changes if you pick a different car after the inspection. For a private sale, ask who receives the funds and how any existing lienholder is paid. A preliminary approval is usually conditional on the collateral, so keep the approval letter with the title copy and the inspection report.

Line up timing before the seller deadline

Membership, approval and funding can each take time, and a private seller may not wait. Ask how long each step usually takes and whether funds can go directly to the seller or lienholder. If the inspection or history report raises a question, keep the approval open rather than signing a purchase agreement just to hold the car.
