No, Atlantic Union Bank doesn't say it requires or includes a CARFAX or AutoCheck report with its auto loans. As of Oct 18, 2026, its auto loan page offers loans for new or used cars and refinancing, but it posts no APRs and never mentions a vehicle history report. The one hard number on the page is a 0.25% rate discount on new loans when you set up automatic payment from an Atlantic Union deposit account. So you'll need a quote from a banker, and you'll need to check the car's past on your own.
On Sunday evening, October 18, 2026, I read Atlantic Union's Auto Loans page, its Rates page, the auto loan calculator, the main lending page and the site map. I didn't apply, call or walk into a branch, so a banker could tell you things the website doesn't. This post only covers what the bank puts in writing.
What the auto loan page actually promises
- Loans for new or used cars, plus refinancing "to get more favorable rates or loan terms."
- A 0.25% interest rate discount on new loans with an automatic payment from an Atlantic Union Bank deposit account.
- Same-day decisions that are "often possible," which is a hedge, not a guarantee.
- Pre-approval, which the bank pitches as a way to focus your search and bargain harder at the dealer.
- Customer Care at 800-990-4828, listed as Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET and Saturday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
I searched every one of those pages for CARFAX, AutoCheck and "vehicle history" and found nothing. No age limit, mileage cap or loan-to-value rule is posted either.
Where the rates aren't
The Rates page is all deposit products. Its CD and savings rates are stamped accurate as of October 16, 2026, but I found no auto loan APR anywhere on it. The calculator page carries its own disclosure saying it "may not represent the available terms of Atlantic Union Bank's loan products." So any APR you see quoted for this bank on a third-party site is someone else's number until a banker confirms it in writing. One wording point to clear up: "new loans" in the autopay discount line could mean newly opened loans or loans on new cars. Ask which, because it changes the math on a used car.
Two things that aren't your car loan
The site has a Specialty Vehicle Financing page, but it's a commercial product from Atlantic Union Equipment Finance for motor coach, shuttle bus, school bus and transit fleets, with funding starting at $50,000. Not for your Camry. Separately, a search for Atlantic Union auto rates turned up a site called One Atlantic Union Banking (oneatlanticunion.com) with used-car APR tables dated July 8, 2024. It isn't Atlantic Union Bank, and when I loaded it on Oct 18 the host showed an "Account Suspended" notice. Stick to atlanticunionbank.com and treat lookalike rate pages with suspicion.
Who this bank is now
Atlantic Union is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. Its holding company's April 1, 2025 press release says Sandy Spring Bank was merged into Atlantic Union Bank that day, which expanded its presence in Maryland. If you banked with Sandy Spring, your loan questions now go to Atlantic Union.
Questions to put to the banker
Ask the oldest model year and highest mileage they'll finance, whether they lend on private-party sales, and how they value the car (book value, invoice or appraisal). Ask whether tax, title and dealer fees can be rolled in, what happens if the title carries a salvage, rebuilt or flood brand, and whether the 0.25% discount applies to a used-car loan. Get the APR, term and quote date in writing. Then compare it with what our posts on Truist, SouthState and United Community Bank found. None of those three bundle a history report either, though SouthState at least prints dated sample rates.
The car is still on you
A bank prices your credit, not the car's past. Frame damage or a washed title won't shrink the balance. Decode the VIN on NHTSA vPIC so the loan paperwork matches the car, search NMVTIS for title brands, and if a dealer waves a free AutoCheck at you, read our take on whether a dealership free AutoCheck is enough. We're a licensed CARFAX and AutoCheck reseller, not affiliated with CARFAX, AutoCheck, Experian or Atlantic Union Bank. Through mid October 2026, guest reports have run about $5.50, member reports about $4.50 and the bundle about $6.75, against roughly $39.99 to $44.99 retail. Confirm the price on the checkout screen, since it can change.
